CAI Mediation Facility

Dear cotton friends for the benefit of the cotton trade -CAI has started Mediation work (one step before Arbitration) to amicably settle the disputes between Seller and buyer

Recognising the importance of mediation as an important and effective mode of alternative dispute redressal system, Cotton Association of India (CAI) has decided to provide mediation facility to help the two contracting parties to explore the possibility of reaching out an amicable settlement and resolve disputes if any, between them arising out of their cotton transactions before going to any litigation.

For the purpose of providing mediation facility to the cotton and textile value chain participants without any additional financial burden on the parties, the CAI has decided that no fees will be charged for the Association for mediation. However, for CAI to undertake mediation, consent of both parties would be necessary

CAI has enrolled the following eminent cotton personalities having vast knowledge in the field of cotton to act as Mediators to amicably resolve the disputes which are referred to CAI:-

The party who wants CAI mediation can contact any one from the above list of names or write a letter or mail to CAI The CAI will then approach the opposite party to seek consent to initiate the process of mediation.

We have already intimated you all about the decision of the Board to commence mediation services.  

The purpose of this letter now is to encourage all our members and others to take advantage of this facility and also create awareness about free mediation facility at CAI amongst all fellow cotton value chain participants.
